Minutes

Present: David Kent, Adam Theaker, Mike Miller, Gavin Lonsdale, Chris Greaves, Jonnie Greaves, Chris Ellis, Brian Oakley, Catherine Williamson, Ian Brown, Neil Duffield

Apologies: Mike Fielding, Wendy Fielding, Jim Budd, Janet Greaves, Jim Theaker, Trish Greaves, Ian Wassall, Paul Storr.

The meeting was opened at 19:35 and the minutes of the previous meeting were accepted.

Chairman’s Report

David Kent thanked all the people who have organised and helped at various events, including the TT and the Cyclocross. He also reported that WW donated the proceeds from the CX snack bar to the Whitby Interactive charity. They had sent a thankyou letter which was passed around.

Treasurer’s Report

David Kent presented the Treasurer’s report on behalf of Paul Storr.

Any Other Business

Adam Theaker suggested that we hold a mountain Bike rides once a month alongside but as an alternative to the Sunday ride.

David Kent reminded members to bring in the trophies of which there were 7. It was discussed and agreed that we retire the old Lantern Rouge trophy in memory of John Legg.

There was discussion about next year’s Time Trials and agreement that we would instigate a handicap system for riders. The results would be aggregated over 7 races to find an overall winner. There followed a general discussion about a suitable handicap system. Catherine and Neil suggested that we might adopt the age-related handicap system popular in running and used by New Marske Harriers for some of their races. David Kent agreed to investigate.

There was some discussion around getting subs in on time, but nothing agreed.

Jonnie Greaves had received some information from the CTT (Cycling Time Trials) which he handed over to the Chairman and TT organiser, David Kent.
